Take-home pay $1,547.69 per biweekly check in Oregon.

An estimate from what you entered, using 2026 federal withholding, Social Security, Medicare and state income tax withholding for a Form W-4 (IRS Pub 15-T), plus the state’s disability or paid leave line where it has one. City, county and school district taxes are not included. Not tax advice.

What comes out of a Oregon paycheck

Short answer: from each Oregon check your employer takes federal withholding, the two FICA taxes (Social Security plus Medicare), Oregon state withholding, and the OR Paid Leave line. Oregon has no sales tax and leans on income tax instead: high brackets, plus Paid Leave Oregon and a statewide transit tax on every check.

LineRule for 2026
Federal income taxSet by your pay, pay schedule and Form W-4 (IRS Pub 15-T)
Social Security6.2% until yearly wages reach $184,500
Medicare1.45% of all wages, plus 0.9% once yearly wages pass $200,000
Oregon income tax4.75% to 9.9% in 4 brackets
OR Paid Leave0.6% of wages until yearly pay reaches $184,500.

From January 1, 2027, the Social Security line stops once 2027 wages reach $192,300.

How Oregon withholding is worked out in 2026

Your employer does not simply multiply your pay by a rate. It turns the check into a yearly figure, takes off the deductions in the state formula, applies the brackets and divides back down to one pay period. That is the same method the calculator above follows, for a single filer.

  • The withholding formula subtracts a standard deduction of $2,910 a year before the rates apply.
  • Each allowance is worth a credit of $263.00 a year against the tax.

Oregon tax brackets for a single filer (2026)

$4,550$11,4006.75%
$11,400$125,0008.75%
$125,000and up9.9%

Only the income inside each band is taxed at that band’s rate, so moving into a higher bracket never lowers your take-home pay.

Local transit/county taxes not included.

Oregon disability, paid leave and other state deductions

These lines are not income tax, so they show separately on a Oregon stub. Each one is worked out from gross wages.

  • OR Paid Leave (Paid Leave Oregon): 0.6% of wages until yearly pay reaches $184,500.

Reading the tax lines on a Oregon pay stub

Pay stubs label the same deductions in different ways. These are the names you are most likely to see on a Oregon stub, and what each one is.

  • FIT or Fed W/H: federal income tax withheld from your W-4.
  • OASDI or SS: Social Security, 6.2% of your pay.
  • MED or Medicare: 1.45% of your pay.
  • OR SIT or OR W/H: Oregon state income tax.
  • OR Paid Leave: Paid Leave Oregon.

Each line has a current amount and a year-to-date (YTD) amount. Landlords and lenders read the YTD column to check that your pay is steady.

Why your actual check may not match

  • Your W-4 (plus any Oregon state form) may claim a different status, dependents or extra withholding.
  • Health insurance, a 401(k) or an HSA come out before tax and lower the taxable amount.
  • Bonuses and commissions are often withheld at a supplemental rate instead.
  • Once yearly wages pass $184,500, Social Security stops for the rest of the year (wage base).
  • Local taxes that this calculator does not add, as described above.
